Fin de la carretera, comunidad Las Mareas
de Salinas.En Puerto Rico, la mayoría de las
veces al final de la carretera vas a necesitar
un bote.

Partiendo de Las Mareas, remamos por la
tranquila laguna hasta que todos se sienten
cómodos con el kayak...

...aprovechamos un canal en el mangle...
...para entrar a aguas mas abiertas.
Las aguas no son muy profundas cerca del
mangle...

...pero el fondo es arenoso y compacto.
Descansamos en la playa del Indio.
Decidimos hacer el cruce a Cayo Pájaro...
...que se puede ver en la distancia.
Organizada la flotilla partimos hacia Cayo

Departing from Las Mareas, we paddle thru
the calm lagoon until everyone is comfortable
with the kayak…

…we take advantage of a canal in the mangrove…
…to enter more open waters.
The waters are not very deep near the
mangrove…

…but the bottom is sandy and compact.
We rest at the beach of the Indian.
We decide to make the crossing to Bird cay…
…that can be seen in the distance.
Organized, the flotilla, departs for Bird
